Summer is finally here, but with it comes the sweat-inducing heat. If you still want to keep fit through the summer, exercising in high temperatures presents a special challenge. However, there is no need to completely forego a workout even in the heat: Despite high summer temperatures, overall fitness can be maintained and even improved with EMS training by “Körperformen” in a pleasant indoor climate and in just 20 minutes per week.

Bonn, 22 July 2019 In summer, our concentration regularly wanes, we often feel sluggish and many people lose their desire to do sport. Yet sport is just as important in summer to stay fit and healthy. Also, some people do not want to lose their hard-earned overall fitness again. One possibility is training with electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) at “Körperformen”. “Our studios are particularly popular in the summer, as sports enthusiasts avoid training in the blazing sun and heat but can still keep fit,” reports Sammy Pesenti, Managing Director of the Bonn EMS provider “Körperformen”. This is because with the Bonn-based EMS company, overall fitness can be maintained and even increased in just 20 minutes of workout per week – without any additional weights. The well-qualified trainers design the workout based on the personal needs of their customers.

Drinking plenty of fluids is also recommended before and after EMS training

Just as for outdoor training and other sports, it is important to drink plenty of water before and after EMS training. “The body tends to dehydrate more quickly in the heat. This reduces performance, but more importantly it endangers health,” explains Marcel Kentenich, co-owner of the Bonn-based EMS provider. Therefore, it is best to drink plenty of water throughout the day before training. “It’s really important. That’s why we provide our customers with sufficient fluids free of charge at all our studios,” adds Marcel Kentenich. In order to replenish the mineral balance after EMS training, this expert advises eating plenty of fruit and vegetables. Fruit varieties such as watermelon and pineapple are particularly suitable here as they also contain a lot of liquid.

Functional clothing cools the body during EMS training with ” Körperformen”

The right sports clothing is important: it should be comfortable and practical. The EMS specialists at “Körperformen” pay attention to high-quality, breathable, functional clothing. Thanks to the material combination of cotton, spandex and polyamide, sweat evaporates more quickly, thus cooling the skin. “This feels very pleasant, especially during a summer workout. Each of our clients receives a sports outfit consisting of a shirt and shorts when they start training,” says Sammy Pesenti.

EMS training is also possible in the midday heat

The same is true for every athlete: mornings and evenings are the best times to train. It’s best to avoid outdoor sports between noon and 4 pm. Things are different with EMS training at “Körperformen”: Sports enthusiasts can also train during the midday heat and perhaps use their lunch break for this. This means no more excuses for those who have noticed that their overall performance has declined or that their summer clothes aren’t fitting quite so well after all.
